Archive for June, 2008
We here at FBTB have been working on a brand new feature for the past few weeks. It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of our brand-spanking new webcomic, Well Played. With Mike at the helm as the resident artist, and the rest of us monkeys as back up dancers, we’ll be publishing a weekly strip on the going-ons around the LEGO Star Wars universe and even the AFOL community. Our first strip is scheduled for this Sunday June 15, 2008 and will be published on a weekly basis. We sincerely hope you enjoy reading it as much as we have fun making it. Grab the link and tell your friends and neighbors! Comments? Talk about it here.
The previous poll was a bit of a teaser to see who you’d like to see in comic form. Well, we couldn’t let one person have all the glory, so we made it with all of us. And although Nick had the lowest number of votes, his character was all of our favorites. Oh yeah, and I totally called out Mike as the big weiner. The complete numbers below:
Which staff member do you think would make a great comic strip character?
- Ace – 121
- Don – 151
- Mike – 158
- Nick – 34
- Ryan – 47
Help build an 8-foot LEGO R2-D2! A LEGO Master Model Builder will be on-hand as this enormous Star Wars droid is built with help from LEGO fans of all ages! Everyone who participates will get a free Certificate of Achievement, while supplies last, plus a special offer at the LEGO Store, that weekend only! The event is at the Natick Collection LEGO Store from 11-7 on Friday, 10-6 on Saturday, and 11-6 on Sunday. $5 off coupons will be handed out freely at the event. Someday they’ll make it to Anaheim or Glendale… someday…
The list of newly called Ambassadors has been posted! The list includes many great community representatives, and it’s my pleasure to inform you that our very own Mike “Count Blockula” Crowley and Adrian “olog” Florea were chosen as FBTB’s representatives.
Congrats to the new Ambassadors! I know you’ll serve us well!
