Weekly Forum Highlights!

Man. Anybody else totally jealous of Ace for going to the San Diego Comic Con? As owner of this site, I think he should be professionally obligated to fly every single one of us out there. And get us all a copy of that wicked Batman premium. And the SDCC-exclusive Nemesis Prime Alternator. But that’s beside the point.

Anyhoo, here’s this week’s forum highlights. Enjoy!

New Poll: Opinion on the SDCC LEGO Batman Premium

Now that LEGO is doing this kind of thing, you know, the convention-only premium, how do you feel about that? Personally, I think it’s great. I have a weakness for exclusives and limited editions and chase figures and whatever else you got along those lines, so I think it’s pretty cool. The low number is going to truly make this a one of a kind hard to get item. Only 250! So what do you think?

Man, if LEGO decided to do the same thing with a Star Wars figure, like they did with the Toy Fair invite a few years ago, I can just imagine the frenzy and the craze to acquire one.

As far as the results of the last poll, I guess if I were to hold up a sandwich board that had FBTB emblazoned on it, or a hat, I’d meet 46 of you.

Will you be attending the San Diego Comic Con?

  • Yes – 46
  • No – 859
  • Maybe – 50

New Poll: Attending Comic Con?

Comic Con’s around the corner. Will you be among the thousands of convention goers pushing your way through the crowds?

As for the last poll, it seems that the Clone Wars cartoons are a big hit, a little over 58% of you love it, while close to 40% of the responses were indifferent. And a very small minority hated it. Oh well, can’t please’em all but I think the Clone Wars was good for the saga we know and love. Here are the detailed numbers:

  • Love it! – 613
  • Hate it! – 57
  • It’s okay; I prefer the films. – 376

New Poll: Clone Wars Cartoons

Now that can preview and buy both “seasons” of the Clone Wars cartoons from the iTunes Music Stores, there’s little to no reason for anyone to not know what the hype is all about. Produced by Genndy Tartakovsky, the cartoon genius who brought you Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory, it’s got a style and flavor all its own. So, what do you think about it? Answer the poll on the right.

The previous off-topic poll was pretty close. I was sure Nintendo DS was going to win, but in the end, the Sony PSP won by a mere 6 votes! Game Boy Advance/Micro had a more respectable showing than I would have guessed bringing in 16% of the votes. Here are the complete numbers:

  • Nintendo DS/DS Lite – 476
  • Nintendo Game Boy Advance/Micro – 183
  • Sony PSP – 482

Amazon, ToysRUs Now Split

As reported recently, Amazon and have had a parting of ways. The results of that parting are now tangible online, as Amazon has set up its own toy section, and has opened a brand-new website. Be sure to check out the new look at both sites.

As for what this means to FBTB and our readers ~ several things. Our Amazon-TRU links lead you to the Amazon website, and we still participate in their Affiliates Program. We’ll work on getting the “-TRU” part removed from the link name. links will go directly to the new ToysRUs webpage. Finally, some interesting things have happened at the Amazon toy site. Some of their items are stocked and sold by Amazon, and that is good news because those items now qualify for their $25/free shipping offer as well as Amazon Prime benefits. However, other items are stocked and sold by 3rd-party sellers such as Target and eToys and thus do not qualify for the free shipping offers. When you shop at Amazon, note which vendor is shipping your item and the timeframe for shipping.
